We are reading a book by Michael Morpurgo. The book is called The Butterfly Lion.

If I was a character in this story I would like to be Bertie because he cares for nature and he likes the Butterfly lion a lot. I’d also like the Butterfly lion a lot and I am really good at being nice to nature so I could be a good fit for Bertie. Plus I am a good actor and I am determined, so I think I would be good at acting the part of Bertie.

I would like to be Bertie in the story because he is a kind and loving boy for lots of things. He likes taking care of animals and living things.I mostly want to be Bertie because whatever he thinks, he thinks very hard about the thing he is caring for. If I were the Butterfly Lion himself, I would love being a pet to somebody very caring and I would repay Bertie for his kindness. I also like the Old Lady, because when she was young she really cared for Bertie. When they were a little bit older, Bertie had got hurt in a war and she had heard that Bertie had got hurt so the lady looked for him from hospital to hospital until the she found him.

So this is why I want to be like Bertie and the Old Lady.

If I had to choose a character to be, I would like to be Bertie because he is a fun character and in the story he is kind because he saves the white lion from being killed. Bertie feels for the lion and then cares about it. Bertie is also brave because he rescued his friend during the war. Unfortunately, someone shot Bertie and he had to go hospital and then he had an operation so they could pull out the bullet.

I would also like to be the Butterfly Lion because I would have someone that would care about me, listen to me and respect me.

So this is why I want to be Bertie and the Butterfly Lion.

We are reading Stig of the Dump by Clive King.
In this book, I’d like to be Stig because he is smarter than he looks and can do more things than you can imagine. Even though he is a cave man, he is super in my opinion. He is the smartest cave man you will ever meet (even though there are not a lot of them). He is a handy man and can make different things. He can make more stuff later in the book because barney has come along. Stig lives in a house with a floordrobe (by the way its when people use there floor as a wardrobe)! That’s why I’d like to be Stig.

If I had to be a character in the story I would be Stig because Stig is a really imaginative type of character and he also makes seriously weird inventions that are still useful. Also, he uses different tools that were used in the olden days to make his inventions. For example he made his own tree house and he used different strange tools to make it. In my opinion he’s just hilarious, like a clown.

If I had to choose one character to be I would choose Stig because he thinks hats are used for carrying stuff – so he is creative. Also, because he makes a knife out of charcoal.

I would like to be Barney as well because he is clever and builds a window out of jam jars with Stig so Stig can have some light in his cave.

That’s why I like to be Barney and Stig !

If I was a character in the story I would like to be Millie because she seems really nice and caring. She also is very lucky to have a friend like Bertie. She doesn’t really get upset a lot unless her kite gets stuck in the tree like it did in the story! It is very sad that she doesn’t see her dad that much though. She looks like an olden day character and when she speaks I imagine that she is speaking like Dorothy in The Wizard Of Oz. She is not funny at all in the story but it is still good that she isn’t rude instead of funny like most people are.

In the Butterfly Lion I would like to be Bertie because he cares for the lion so much, and I would also care for a pet like that. Even when he got taken away he still never gave up on finding the lion until the end.

I would also like to be Bertie because he rescues two men in the war he goes to and he still didn’t forget about his lion.

In Question Marks group, we are reading Stig of the Dump by Clive King.

It is an amazing story about a little boy called Stig who in my opinion is a cave man, and his friend, another boy called Barney, who discovers Stig in a local dumpsite. If I could be a character in this story I would be Barney because he takes good care of Stig. If I found Stig I would become the best of friends with him. I really like this book.

This book is about a boy called Barney that finds a boy from the dump called Stig. This book is unusual, interesting, different and sometimes a little boring.

The character I would prefer to be in the book is Stig because he is very inventive and clever. The reason why Stig is inventive is because he uses normal items as something else. For example, he uses a hat as a slingshot. Stig also uses half a football as a cup for drinking water. That is why he is inventive and clever. Also, the reason I want to be him is because I want to see how life is without normal daily tools (phone, proper bed and more).

In Question Marks we are reading Stig of the Dump by Clive King, illustrated by Edward Ardizzone. This book is about Barney, who finds a boy called Stig who lives in the dump and is dressed like a caveman-boy. The main characters in this book are called Barney, Stig, Lou and Gran.

The most interesting characters in this book are Barney and Stig because they work together as a team to help each other complete what they need to complete.

The character I would mostly like to be is Stig because he is very adventurous and is very creative, just like me! When Stig wants to drink he gets a football, cuts it in half, finds a leak in the roof and drinks out of the football. A couple of the examples of Stig’s creations are a hat for a sling shot and a flint for an axe. Stig can’t really cope on his own which is why Barney is still helping today. I love this book because it is very much my kind of book and has a similarity to my life!

We are reading the Hodgeheg by Dick king-Smith.
I would want to be the hedgehog Max in the story because he’s the main character in the story and he’s very kind and sometimes he thinks what to do next even when no-one is helping him.

The character that I like in The Hodgeheg is the hedgehog that is called Max. I like him the most because he is brave and a good leader for his family even though he is little. For example he leads his mum and dad to the park across the busy road which is dangerous. I would like to be like Max.

It’s about a girl called Andy whose mum and dad split up. So far she is sad about her friend called Aileen not playing with her ever again because her friend has annother friend called Fiona. The character I would like to be in the book is Andy because she is funny and never gives up on trying to make her mom and dad get back together.

This book is about a girl called Andrea and she moves around a lot because her parents split up. Also, she lost her best friend Aileen because she has moved far from school. Now Aileen’s best friend is Fiona and she comes to Aileen’s house when Andrea used to invite Aileen for tea. I would like to be Andrea because she is a strong and funny person who doesn’t give up when things are bad for her. I recommend this book because it is interesting and you will learn a lot from it.
